Dear Diary,
Simple qualities of being considerate and generous to others are known as kindness. A gesture of warmth and care is often associated with strength and courage. In fact, science shows that devoting some of our time and resources to others brings well-being to our own lives. It boosts our mood and reduces feelings of loneliness.
This also extends to being kind to yourself. It improves our immune system, reduces stress, and decreases inflammatory responses in our bodies.
There are many ways of practicing kindness in daily life. Some of the most noted ones are:
Andy Mitchel decided to offer a ride to a man who was walking in the heat. “I just saw him walking on the side of the road in 95-degree Texas heat.”
When they got to talking, Andy came to know Justin Corva, who is a fast-food worker who could not afford a car, and so walked three miles to and from work every day.
Justin’s hardworking spirit inspired Andy so much that he clicked a selfie with him and posted it on Facebook. His post went viral and changed Corva’s life.
Andy’s post got picked up by local business owners, who came together and raised money to provide him with a 2004 Toyota Camry, along with one year of insurance, two years of oil changes and $500 worth of gas.
A Facebook Live showed Corva’s emotional reaction. The video alone garnered around 358,000 views.
Sometimes, simple things in life bring bigger differences.
That is all I have for now!
I will write to you soon,
Take care.
